Matthew Filipowicz’s Ring of Fire Interview With Rick Perlstein

Exciting news! This last week on Ring of Fire, I went from interview-ee to interviewer, as I interviewed Rick Perlstein.
For those who are unfamiliar, Rick is a historian and the New York Times Best Selling Author of Nixonland and Before The Storm.
We discuss a talk Rick recently gave at Vanderbilt University entitled “Why Barack Obama Cannot Be A Transformational President”, where Rick compared Obama to transformational progressive Presidents such as FDR and LBJ.
In addition to the Perlstein interview, this week I also ran down the news in the first hour with David Bender. We talk the primary results, Specter, Lincoln, Rand Paul, BP, and the Supreme Court nomination of Elena Kagan. Fun stuff. Both clips are now up on my AUDIO page.
